You may know that today is the big day for the Global Climate Strike. What you may not know is that the platforms driving and supporting much of this effort have been created, managed, and supported by the product team we’ve told you about at 350.org.
We’ve had a front row seat to watching the team in action, and seeing what that team has produced over these last few months has been truly remarkable. What they're accomplishing right now is jaw-dropping. How they’re serving the organization and the wider movement is pretty stunning. How they’re visioning and collaborating and problem-solving together is inspiring.
Right now, because of this team, people around the world are able to easily sign up to host, find, and attend #ClimateStrike events near them, and have the tools and resources they need to help make those events a success. Countless organizations and partners are using 350’s beautiful, unbranded, high-functioning platforms to promote and engage people around the globe. Users are being supported, bugs are being fixed, changes are being carefully made real-time to support the emerging work on the ground.
This is what it looks like to have a team of brilliant problem solvers, thinkers, trainers, and strategists, supporting each other, complementing each other’s skills and concentrations. It’s a team of skilled, dedicated, fun people that spans from Europe to Africa to North America to Southeast Asia and everywhere in between.
This is what it looks like to leverage the power of technology as a supercharger rather than settling for it being an anchor. You get there by putting smart people in the right roles, and supporting them to make everyone around them better, all the time. That’s exactly what 350 has done.
